Two Sensational Guitar Players Together live at Atlantis:
West Coast Blues Guitar Summit
featuring Junior Watson, Kid Ramos & Mitch Kashmar (USA)
Two legendary guitar heroes from the US West Coast, plus a modern master of the harmonica who belongs to the Top Ten of his craft and happens to be a fantastic singer as well: with Junior Watson, Kid Ramos and Mitch Kashmar, Groove Now once more is bringing a true dream line-up to the Atlantis stage.
Michael „Junior“ Watson (born in 1949) was among the original founding members of the famous Mighty Flyers, then joined Canned Heat as their lead guitarist for many years; for his part, David „Kid“ Ramos (born in 1959) played with renowned combos such as Roomful of Blues, The Fabulous Thunderbirds and The Mannish Boys – with whom, in fact, he has impressed the Basel audience in the summer of 2014. Junior Watson and Kid Ramos are definitely among the world’s best as far as rocking and jumping blues guitar skills are concerned, just as their fellow Californian Mitch Kashmar (*1960) has long been considered among the outstanding practicioners of the blues harp.
This extraordinary combination has been put together in direct consultation with the musicians themselves; please note the fact that Kashmar, who usually plays Europe with local pick-up bands, here ist to be heard and seen in the very good company of two congenial old friends and colleagues. It is, of course, not by chance that Watson and Ramos once met and then succeeded each other in the band of late, great Lynwood Slim – who himself has become a clear inspiration to Kashmar, too. As a result, we get a unique occasion to witness authentic West Coast Blues in the way it can usually be experienced only at home!
