The Two Best White Soul Blues Singers Together

Tad Robinson - Darrell Nulisch Soul Revue (USA)

Tad Robinson and Darrell Nulisch are among the best white soul-blues singers, they have proved as much in Basel before, each on his own, and they have even toured Europe together years ago, with the legendary „Severn Records Soul Revue“.

But now, under the motto „Two Soul-Blues Heroes Together“, they are back at last for a sensational meeting at the summit of their careers.

Nulisch is originally from Texas, while Tad Robinson is a native New Yorker who found his way to blues and soul through Indiana University’s school of music and Chicago’s West Side, where he joined Dave Specter and the Bluebirds for a time. read more

But neither geography nor culture is enough to define their music; Nulisch, for one, has reservations about fashionable terms such as „blue-eyed soul“. „I never thought about whether these cats were black or white, or any of that. It never was a concern. I just liked the music, I can’t help what I like, and the stuff I like happens to be black music.“ Which goes to prove one thing only: Music is not a question of background and origins, much less of skin color, but simply a question of excellence.
